Troubleshooting.
Landed with no signal? Work through these fixes in order.
1) Make sure the eSIM line is turned ON in settings. 2) Turn data roaming ON for the eSIM line (this is the switch travel eSIMs use — it never adds charges on our plans). 3) Set the eSIM as your mobile-data line. 4) Toggle Airplane Mode on/off, or restart the phone.
Nine times out of ten it's step 2 — roaming off on the eSIM line.
Check the APN: your order email lists the correct APN value. On iPhone it usually configures automatically; on Android go to Access Point Names and confirm it matches, then restart.
Force a network re-selection: settings → network selection → switch from Automatic to manual, pick a different partner network, or toggle back to Automatic. Speeds vary by area and network load, especially at airports.
Each QR installs once. If it errored halfway, delete the half-installed eSIM profile and use the manual SM-DP+ details from your email instead. Still stuck? Support can reissue the profile.
It shouldn't — WhatsApp stays registered to your home number. Make sure your home SIM is still enabled (it can be on with data roaming off), and that WhatsApp wasn't asked to re-verify on a new number.
